LONG BEACH CITY

LONG BEACH CITY

Long Beach is a coastal city in California. Long Beach City Beach is the main beach of Long Beach. It is located along Ocean Boulevard from the Belmont Pier to Alamitos Beach. Bluff Park is a grass park. A paved path meanders on the beach from the parking lot and is popular with bicyclists and skaters. Long Beach was a long board surfing Mecca. Now this area is protected. Swimming is usually safe here. Street parking is also available along Ocean Blvd and stairs descend the bluff every couple blocks or so. For some, a tour of the ocean liner, docked here since its retirement in 1967, evokes waves of nostalgia for the huge ocean liner with its opulent rooms, 1930s deco décor and teakwood decks. Others, particularly the younger set, are entranced by the spine-tingling haunted ship stories on the nighttime ghost tour. However, for everyone, a visit to this floating hotel and museum is a must on any trip to Long Beach. At one time a less-than-appealing place to visit, Long Beach has transformed itself into an upscale tourist resort, with many attractions, including a new, state-of-the-art aquarium with a fabulous shark exhibit, excellent art museums, charming shops, public golf courses, and lots of recreational activities along its miles stretch of beach. Take the kids to the waterfront entertainment complex with rides and live performances or to the farming demonstrations at Rancho Los Alamitos. You can go shopping in one of the city's many unique districts, a tour of coastal breweries, a vibrant foodie scene, and so much more. One thing is for sure, tensions and stresses dissolve in this laid-back city.
